Raising Awareness About Natural Disasters ![]() ![]()
Are you prepared for the rAn adventure?
The rAn team has been preparing an adventure for teachers that want to enter the world of serious games! ![]() The rAn game will bring primary education students a series of mini-challenges about natural disasters. Students will discover four cities, each facing a different natural disaster: Flood, Fire, Storm and Earthquake. In each city they will learn what these disasters are, how they are caused, how to prevent them and how to act in their occurrence. ![]() However, what you don't know yet is that teachers will be able to design, create and program their own mini-challenges to be integrated in the game. From simple cross-words to complex scratch programing, all ideas are welcome!
The rAn partners are discussing the final details of what will be called the:
rAn teachers' game design challenge! If you want to participate in the challenge and/or in the project: ![]() Other news! The rAn partners have organized two project meetings The kick-off meeting of the project was held at Edinburgh, UK, on the 20th of January 2020, and was hosted by CIVIC, the coordinator of the project. Representatives from all partner organizations met, discussed the steps for achieving project’s objectives, and defined the first activities. It was a very fun and fruitful gathering. ![]() ![]() The 2nd transnational project meeting would take place in Portugal hosted by our partner NUCLIO on the 28th of April 2020. Unfortunately, travel and mobility restrictions due to the Covid-19 outbreak did not allow the consortium to physically attend the meeting. Gaming and playing are very effective ways of deep learning and we aim at providing an engaging and inspiring game for the students.
However, we also aim at creating strong bonds with teachers, welcoming their ideas and designs and providing them with support, guidelines and visibility! If you want to participate, send us a message saying from which country you come from and how you would like to participate. For example: Do you want to use the game? Do you want to contribute with a mini-challenge for the game? Maybe both? Let us know :) ![]()
